Joanna is a co-author on a new pre-print from Sam McKenzie’s lab at the University of New Mexico. This manuscript presents the development of a novel Photometry Device with Optogenetics and Electrophysiology (P-DOpE), which is then employed to demonstrate that local activity within CA1 amplifies endogenous noradrenergic release. This exciting observation provides powerful in vivo support for the glutamate amplifies noradrenergic effects (GANE) hypothesis.
